Covid has had very negative effects on kids making it impossible for them to practice their sports and remain healthy.

In Quebec on October first, François Legault, the prime minister of Quebec, cancelled sports for the kids because they were in the red zone. People started to become angry because of this decision.

Some people, for the majority parents, made petitions to make Legault change his decision. They posted it on Facebook. Some reached 50 000 signatures. After the prime minister saw that, he rethought his decision.

The Quebec government saw that a lot of students were more stressed, they had anxiety and they spent much more time on their phones. Then François Legault let the kids in sport concentration practice their sports in school but they can’t play games against other schools.

“ At least, we can practice our sports” said an athlete  from Cardinal-Roy school in Quebec. Students in sport concentrations are happy to practice their sport.

Legault said that it was correct for students to play sports in concentration but not in civil sports. Some volleyball players from La Camaradière school said that volleyball in school was their only motivation to go to school but because it’s a civil sport and they can’t practice it, they don’t want to go to school.
