Who doesn’t scroll down their new feeds before saying good night? Nobody! Since the beginning of January, Apple is offering a “night mode.”

The light of your phone is called “blue light”. Its light radiation inhibits the secretion of melatonin. This is a natural hormone released at the end of the day to tell your body it’s time to relax and eventually fall asleep. By reading on your phone while you’re lying in bed, you send a contradictory signal to your brain. The night mode consists on taking away blue from the light spectrum. It makes you focus on a light that is mostly a shade of orange.

That means that even if you use your Smartphone at night, your brain will still send melatonin to your body. The night mode is accessible on the new update IOS 9.3.
