Intro

The Revenant is a movie directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, written by Iñárritu and Mark L. Smith. This film recived positive reviews and a rating of 83%, based on 286 reviews. This movie won three Golden Globe Awards and had been nomined for 12 Academy Awards for the best pictures, best director, best actor and the best supporting actor in 2015. This movie is based on true facts which happened in the colonization period.

 

Story

A group of trappers who are in command of Andrew Herny, who was a fur trader in the US. He was the chef of a group of hunters for pelts in Unsettled Wilderness of the Northen Louisiana Purchase(Dakota). During a fur search, the gang was attacked by the Arikaras Native Americans, an american tribe. 33 trappers perished while Glass, Hawn, Henry, John Fitzgerald, Jim Bridger and a few other guys menage to escape by boat. After several mishaps, they quit the boat and continued their expedition on foot, in the forest  full of dangers. Tensions are created in the gang, especially between Glass and Fitzgrald because that the boy of Glass has Native American origins. They set their campment in the dark, in the middle of the forest. The next day, Glass got attacked by a bear and he was severely injured. Shortly after this incident, he is found by the others of the gang and they brought him in the campment to treat him. Fitzerald thinks that Glass will not survive of hgis injured.He thinks that the best solution is to kill Glass. Henry paid Fitzerald and Jim Bridger to stay with the injured man. Theguys promise to stay with him and give him a proper burial when he will die. Now the mens must learn to survive in an austere climat, combat the rough weather, the conflicts between the group and the Natives. The chances of surviving are thin. A hard reality where all hopes are possibles and dreams can become true.

Recommnandation

I highly recommended this movie to fans of action, historical suspense and for those wanting to learn more about what happened in the time of the colonization. For all those who have a sensitive heart not to watch this film because you will surely cry because it’s very violent and is the harsh reality of our ancestors.
