The Ethical supervisor of Canada has started an investigation on Justin Trudeau’s relation with the Islam family Aga Khan after the prime minister’s visit on their private island, in Bahamas.

On January 12th, Justin Trudeau came back from a trip in Bahamas. Rumors started spreading, saying that our prime minister went to Aga Khan’s island on a private helicopter for his Christmas vacations. Since he came back, Mary Dawson (ethical watchdog) started investigating on Trudeau’s trip.

Trudeau has traveled in private helicopter, which was paid by Aga Khan. The trip cost millions and the prime minister has probably violated the conflict of interest act and that may generate tension. The conflict of interest act’s goal is to avoid as many conflicts as possible. Aga Khan might want to be repaid for the trip. This way, Canada’s leader may have compromised his friendship with this very powerful man. There may be some repercussions following these events.

Justin Trudeau refuses to give details on his recent trip on Aga Khan’s island. However, he admitted he had multiple holidays with this rich Muslim family. ” The first time I went on a holiday with the Aga Khan, I was twelve. It was a family trip with my father and my brothers and we had a wonderful trip in Greece” said our Prime Minister.

Aga Khan is a rich spiritual leader to millions of Muslims. He is believed to be the direct descendant of Islam’s prophet Muhammad. He has been a close friend to the Trudeau family for many years. Aga Khan has founded one of the biggest environmental foundations. Their goal is to reduce poverty in Asia and in Africa. To do so, they send people in isolated countries and make sure they get the right amount of resources to survive.

He also has another foundation which helps poor children to go to school. Over 2 million students benefit from Aga Khan’s education programmes annually. Programmes go from early childhood development to primary and secondary schools.

Even if  Aga Khan as done many good things to help various kinds of people Mary Dawson will be investigating on this man to make sure everything is in order.
