Blade Runner 2049 is the sequel of a classic sci-fi movie. Critics had very different opinions on the matter. But what separates the two?

It has received various critics because some people only want to be entertained with explosions, guns, and car chases. While some prefer a deep story about what makes us human. Blade runner has always been about psychology and deep story instead of action.

Some critics said that the link between the two movies was weak. That’s because Denis Villeneuve wasn’t supposed to be the director at first. The team wanted the director to be Ridley Scott (director of the first movie). they wrote the script so it fitted Ridley’s Scott’s style. It changed to Denis Villeneuve and his way of seeing the movie was different. It turned out it looked more like a Denis Villeneuve movie rather than Ridley Scott. So it’s the same story told in a different way.

Others say that it didn’t impress them as much as the 1982 version. The first movie was original because they weren’t many sci-fi movies of this style. It really impressed people, it was new. But today there are a ton of sci-fi movies, so the latest didn’t really stand out.

Set thirty years after the original film, the story depicts a bioengineered human named K, who discovers the remains of a once-pregnant replicant. To prevent a possible war between replicants and humans, K is secretly tasked with finding the child and destroying all evidence related to it.

Principal photography  took place in Budapest Hungary, between July and November 2016. Blade Runner 2049 premiered in Los Angeles on October 3, 2017 and was released in Canada on October 5, 2016 in 2D, 3D and in the United States on October 6, 2017, in 2D, 3D and IMAX.
