On March 4th 2019, the famous Riverdale actor, Luke Perry died from an ischemic stroke in Burbank, California at the age of 52.
Mr. Perry was born on October 11th 1966 in Fredericktown, Ohio, where he lived until the age of 18 before moving to Los Angeles to start his acting career. A year later, he briefly appeared in the music video of the band Twisted Sisters. It’s only in 1990, after a lot of auditions for acting jobs that he received his first role. He was playing Dylan McKay, a teenager in the dramatic TV serie Beverly Hills, 90210. This popular show lasted 10 seasons and it is his biggest success.
This american actor played at least 25 different roles before his last one as Fred Andrews, Archie’s father in the popular teen serie Riverdale. The cast members of the TV serie were not prepared for the sudden death of Luke. The last scene he played on the show does not explain his disappearance from the city. Most fans are wondering how the writers are gonna explain through the show why Fred is suddenly missing from the story. After Luke’s death, Riverdale’s writer said “You know, honestly, we are I think all still in shock and are all still processing and grieving, we know that we have to address it in some way, but we’re giving ourselves a little bit of time and space before we figure out the best way to honor him.”
Perry had already suffered from a stroke in the past, but after his second one, his fiance Wendy Madison Bauer and his two kids Jack and Sophie Perry, decided to take him off of the life support. He later died from complications.
An ischemic stroke is caused by a blocked artery which deprives brain cells from oxygen so they begin to die. His funeral occured on march 11th in Dickson, Tennessee and his ashes were spread on his farm.
