Max Emilian Versateppen , the youngest F-1 driver brought his formula-1 car on top of the famous Streif ski course in Kitzbuhel, Austria for a spectacular show run at an altitude of 1,600m.

Max Emilian Verstappen was born on  september 30, 1997 in Hasselt, Belgium. He is the son of the famous F-1 driver ,Jos Verstappen. Max is a Belgian-Dutch racing driver who competes for Red Bull Scuderia Toro Racing Team. He has made is debut at the age of 17. He became the youngest driver in the history of the sport to start a World Championship race. He achieved his best race in Hungary with a 4th position. He did a similar performance at the United States Grand Prix. At the end of 2015 season, he received three awards at the FIA award ceremony: rookie of the year, personality of the year, and action of the year for his overtake on Felipe Nasr at the Belgian Grand Prix.

On january 14, Verstappen indulged in some extreme pre-season “testing” as he took a Red Bull show car for an icy run on a specially designed course on the legendary Streif ski mountain in Austria. This spectacular show run has been organized by the Red Bull’s demonstration team, in preparation for the prestigious Hahnenkamm alpine ski race. They needed a lot of planning to bring the F-1 car by helicopter on top of the Alps.

Due to the altitude of 1600 metres of the mountain, and the temperatures below freezing , a few modifications were done to the RB7. They  raised the car’s height and added studded Pirelli tires, and snow chains to fit the new height.

”It was something really special , not just driving on the snow but driving on top of a mountain” Verstappen said. ” The scenary was incredible, I enjoyed it a lot and I think all the spectators enjoyed it just as much as I did. I’d never driven any kind of car on snow or ice, never mind a Formula one car, it was really amazing”.

” The main difficulty was what you’d expect, it was really slippery! But added to that was the fact that it was on a mountainside. You’re on a slope, you don’t want to start sliding, and you really don’t want to make any mistakes”,Verstappen added.
