This Serie Could Open Your Eyes
February 28, 2022
This series is about a group of teenagers going to school, having a normal life, but when class ends, their lives turn crazy.
This series is called Euphoria, it is produced by Sam Levinson and directed by Augustine Frizzell. Rue, the main character who is played by Zendaya, is the narrator in most episodes. She explains the life of the other characters and the way people feel about them.
Euphoria is popular because it addresses serious situations like abuse, body shaming and drugs.
Abuse:
There are a lot of cases of abuse in the series but the most talked about is between Nate played by Jacob Elordi and Maddy played by Alexa Demie. Nate is the cool popular boy who falls in love with Maddy, the cheerleader captain. At first, everything was fine but as time went by, he became more and more violent towards her. Maddy is madly in lovewith him so she hides everything he does to her until he choked her and the police got involved ” It was the fact that she knew, no matter what he did, she’d still love him”.
Body shaming:
There is one character who gets body shamed all the time, her name is Kat and she is played by Barbie Ferreira. In the beginning of Euphoria, she was a shy little girl who was still a virgin ” I spent my whole life afraid people were going to find out I was fat” but as time went on, she lost her V-card and became very confident. She didn’t care about pleasing others and started enjoying her own life.
Drugs:
Drugs are very easy to purchase because Fezco, the ‘’most popular’’ dealer played by Angus Cloud, does ask for anything and just wants to sell and get money. His most loyal customer was Rue. She is an addict and went to rehab because she overdosed. After she overdosed, he stopped selling to her and just stayed friends.
Euphoria is two seasons for now. There are only six episodes in the second season but there is an episode coming out at nine .p.m. each Sunday.
