England: Living With Covid Plan
March 1, 2022
After two years of restriction due to Covid the prime minister of England decided to speed up the process and take off the restrictions.
After two darkest years Boris Johnson, the prime minister, wants to turn the page of this virus. His main statement is to live with the virus like we live with the flu. In fact, he announced the end of isolation for positive cases since last Thursday. He even said: “The restrictions have a significant cost to our economy, our society, our mental well-being and our children’s opportunities, and we must not pay that price any longer” Many people think he speeded up the process to cancel the restriction since his recent accusation. He was accused of blackmail after the scandal he created on Downing Street. Furthermore this incident threatens his political carrier so he could be doing this to ease up the judges and the population.
However, the British Medical Association said the plan will fail. Moreover, they don’t agree at all with the government initiative they just don’t believe in the plan. Like they said: “Today’s announcement from the Prime Minister risks creating a false sense of security when the levels of infection and illness remain high, and the NHS is still under crippling pressure..”
Therefore, after the announcement lots of rules are going to change after April 1st. For instance, free screening will no longer exist except for old and poor health people. As well they will only give booster to vulnerable people and there is more.
