Why You Should be on a Plant-Based Diet ?

Arianne Tremblay

The amount of vegetarian and vegan people is increasing, everyone chooses these diets for different reasons or benefits.

In the world, there is presently 22% of the population that are vegetarian and less than 1% of people are vegan. Whether it’s for a diet, animal rights, or a religion all the reasons are good to follow plant-based nutrition.

Many people are scared of not having all the vitamins they need or missing meat, however, there are now a lot of alternatives. In fact, eating vegan or vegetarian has many benefits to it like: preventing heart disease, cancer, type two diabetes, blood hypertension, and much more. The effect of vegetables, fruits, nuts and grains are beneficial for that kind of diet.

Every day, there are roughly 25 million animals who are killed for food, and a big part of it (more than 20%) is lost or thrown away. There’s also lot of pollution made by the polluted water used to produce meat.

A vegan/vegetarian diet is the best diet for cancer prevention, and if you are vegetarian it will prevent mostly female cancers.

There are different types of plant-based diets and one of them could probably be right depending on what your body accepts or what are your preferences.
