Between the Charest Est and Duplessis Nord highway, in Quebec, the driver of a semi-trailer died in a violent lurch on a Tuesday morning.

For an undetermined reason, around 6h15 in the morning, a snow loading truck overturned toward the Duplessis Nord highway. The driver, a sixty years old man, got stuck under the weight of the truck cabin after being ejected from it.

The injured man was directly sent to the hospital. The ‘’Sûreté du Québec” (SQ) unfortunately confirmed his death.

‘’It is a truck loaded with snow linked to snow removal operations and the observation is that the man lost control of the vehicle in the middle of the curve and then overturned and came to rest against the guardrail,’’ relates Louis- Philippe Bibeau, the spokesperson for the SQ.

During the rush hour, there were many slow-downs caused by the accident.  During the morning, the freeway ramp had to stay closed for the investigation.

‘’ When I arrived, the roadway was clear. Was there any black ice present? Did the driver take the curve too quickly? These are things that will be established by the investigation,’’ said Louis- Philippe Bibeau.
