A Boeing 737 crashed with a total of 132 passengers in southwest China on Monday.

The plane lost contact as it passed over the city of Wuzhou in the mountainous region of Guangxi, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China. The number of victims and reasons for the crash are not known for now. The rescue team has not found any survivors at the moment.

This accident could be the most deadly since 1994 in this country where they upgraded air safety. According to local media, the flight from the company China Eastern Airlines departed at 13 o’clock and was supposed to land at Canton (South) 1300 km away.

The plane crashed on the hill of Guangxi mountains. The plane “completely fell apart” after crashing into a mountainside, causing a massive fire in the region, a local resident told local media. Flight tracking showed that the plane was only in the sky for an hour and was close to reaching its destination when it crashed.

“A China Eastern plane (flight number MU5735) lost contact at 2.15 pm … Rescue teams are on the way to ground zero, and rescue work is being laid out in order,” the Guangxi Emergency Management Department said in a statement.

The plane dropped a thousand meters in three minutes.

China’s President Xi Jinping was shocked and ordered an immediate investigation. Since the crash occurred China Airlines immobilized all of its planes on the ground.
