Volodymyr Zelensky Lego Figurine Raised Over 100,000$
April 13, 2022
Citizen Brick’s owner donated over one hundred thousand dollars to Ukraine with the profit from its new figurine.
Joe Trupia started a campaign to raise money for Ukraine. The campaign isn’t like any other campaign, it’s a lego one. Since Joe is the owner of Citizen Brick he decided to manufacture a lego Minifigure of the president of Ukraine: Volodymyr Zelensky, with the Ukrainian flag on a molotov cocktail.
Their original goal was 100,000$ and they hit that goal in less than a day. In fact, they got 145,388$ in total. All the money gained from the campaign went to help the people in need. “I just felt that I had to act using what I had,” Trupia said. “Due to the limited supply of necessary parts, we won’t be able to make more,” Citizen Brick wrote. So that means that the figurine is part of a limited edition and it will never be made again by Citizen Brick.
“This initiative has absolutely nothing to do with the LEGO Group. It’s the work of an independent retailer which has no connection to the company.” said the Lego company to avoid people thinking that the figurine was made by a collaboration between the two companies.
