The highest-grossing movie in history comes back with its sequel Avatar 2 titled The way of the water.
After the long awaited time for the release day of Avatar 2, the public finally has the date of the return which is Friday 16 of December in 2022. The film’s budget was 250 millions of dollars, and it was shot in New-Zealand with virtual production work done in Los Angeles. The plot of the film is mainly about the survival of the family of Jake Sully, the main character, and their ancient menace Miles Quaritch that compelled them to relocate from the forest to the Metkayina clan’s reefs.
The first Avatar was released in 2009 meaning that its fanbase waited 13 years for the second movie.
There are a lot of reasons why the movie was deferred and one of those is that the Canadian director wanted to film the movie underwater therefore it could be more realistic, but their original equipment couldn’t perform underwater so they created a new way of recording the actors while in the sea before it was animated. Secondly, he was simultaneously working on all of the Avatar sequels at the time. Finally, the film was supposed to be released in 2021 but due to COVID-19 it was postpone to the date that we all know. ”For real. It’s going to blow people away. You’re not ready for what Jim is doing,” declares the 20th Century Studios President Steve Asbell.
The popular Canadian director James Francis Cameron has directed masterpieces like Terminator, Titanic and Avatar. He is not only a filmmaker, but an ocean explorer that has worked for National Geographic and has produced documentaries , including Ghosts of the Abyss and Aliens of the deep. ” I look for things that haven’t been done. I like finding that gap between everything that hasn’t been done and what I think can be done,”explains James Cameron why he loves the sea. In 2012 he also went 10.9 kilometers down in the Mariana Trench in the DEEPSEA CHALLENGER submersible vessel which he designed and built.
