Sprayed on Dress Hits Catwalk
December 2, 2022
On September 30, 2022, at the final of the Coperni show, Bella Hadid walked to the middle of the runway, only wearing her underwear and holding her breasts as two men began to spray her body with what appeared to be white paint.
Dr. Torres says, “The components mix natural and synthetic fibres with liquid polymers in an aerosol can and turns into a non-woven fabric when sprayed.” It took about 10 minutes, as seen during the Spring/Summer 2023 Paris Fashion week, and a woman adjusted the dress after it had been sprayed on the supermodel, miss Bella Hadid. After a few minutes, “it looked like a dress solidified into a texture that almost resembled latex,” as mentioned in complex.com. Bella Hadid’s walk opened new doors in the fashion industry.
Manel Torres has worked a long time on this project, he is a Spanish fashion designer that has developed the world’s first spray-on clothing that can be worn, washed, and worn again! But who had the idea of spraying a dress on miss Hadid? Well, as mentioned previously, this idea came from Ms. Torres. It was presented at the Coperni show, a luxury fashion brand designed by Arnaud Vaillant and Sébastien Meyer, the French designers behind the womenswear label Coperni Femme.
