The hype comes from the fact that some things are based on real life, such as locations, events and certain characters. This is causing problems for Rockstar Studios (producer of GTA), the reason gamers are waiting for this game is that Grand Theft Auto 5 was released in 2013 and was a very popular game with over 190 million copies sold. This has kept Grand Theft Auto players waiting 12 years for the next game in this saga, which promises to be much better than the last.
How much information do we have on the game so far? The action takes place in Florida’s Vice City, a fictionalized version of Miami. This next episode in the saga will take around 35 to 40 hours to complete. We know that there will be two protagonists, a guy and a girl. This is an interesting fact, as data collected shows that only 15% of popular video games have a girl as protagonist. Some NPCs (non-player characters) are based on real people, such as the “Florida Joker” or Lawrence Sullivan. This guy tried to sue Rockstar Studios for $2 million because the game’s trailer includes his likeness without his consent or compensation, and he’s being harassed. The case didn’t go to trial because the charges were dropped after Rockstar Studio’s lawyers and Lawrence Sullivan’s lawyer reached a settlement.
What do gamers think GTA 6 will be like? A famous French YouTuber called Lasalle, who spent 12 years of his life playing GTA 5, said that the more advanced graphics would change the gameplay. For interactions with non-player characters and the map will be so realistic that the fantasy side of the video game will be less important. “Rockstar Studio has never disappointed us with its gameplay.”
