Eolocar Contest

Eolocar+Contest

On January 28, at La Camaradière school, secondary 2 students participated to an eolocar contest with their science teachers:  Nathalie Rémillard and Marc Parrot . An eolocar is a vehicule that is propelled by the wind.

The project of the eolocar was to build vehicles with recycled materials that met strict specifications. They has to do this project within 4 periods. This was the second edition of this science project .

During the contest, they had to put some charge on their vehicle. Either 0.5kg, 1kg or 1.5kg. There were about 20 people that participated to the contest and the winners were rewarded for their performance. The score of each student worked like this : the mass they choose (kg) x distance (cm) / precision.

When asked why they chose this project, Natalie Rémillard mentioned that it was paramount for young students to be able to follow specifications and also be creative.

This year’s two winners were Félix Hébert and Félix Marcotte. Congratulation to both of them.
