Since 2018 this 22-year-old guy has been doing World Cup.
Eliot Grondin is originally from Saint-Marie. He is 22 years old and was born on April 19th, 2001. He’s been a pro-cross-snowboarder since he was 16 years old.
As we can see during all his races, Eliot is really in his element during the first flexions that lead him to the end line. He said, “I don’t really know why but it has always been a part that I’m good at and I stand out from the other guys on the circuit.”
He won his first gold medal on The NOR-Am Circuit in Big White C-B. He also won his first crystal globe during the Mont Saint-Anne competitions on March 23rd and 24th and Dominique Maltais, his childhood idol gave it to him, so it was a significant moment for him. During his 2023 season, Eliot did 10 podiums, won 7 times on 11 races, and won over the second participant by 340 points.
Eliot participated in his first Olympics when he was only 16 years old. He’s the youngest participant in his category. On top of that, Eliot had access to the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS). Since 2021 he has been winning 9 World Cups. As well, he arrived in second and third position during the 2022 Olympics in Beijing.cv
He summarized his season in an interview on Monday march 25 at TVA Nouvelles ” It was almost a perfect season, I only missed one big final of all the season and one small one. So from the beginning, I already had a better consistency that was a lot better than last year. Then to take 7 wins like that and then be on the podium at practically every race during the season is just CRAZY!” In his season, he got injured during a competition in Montafon, Austria, but it did not stop him from doing the competitions in Mont Saint-Anne.
Snowboard cross also called boardercross is a sport that was introduced in 1991. It normally consists of 4 athletes in Olympic competitions, all racing simultaneously on the same inclined course with obstacles.
To conclude Eliot Grondin is a rising star to keep an eye on.
