The “Festival d’été de Québec”(FEQ) is again opening its gates for the 56th edition between July 4th and 14th. After last year’s amazing artists, some of Quebec’s population is disappointed about this year’s lineup.
The FEQ is a summer festival that is held in downtown Quebec that each year presents hundreds of shows. On Mars 19th, 20,000 presale passes were sold in 5 minutes and the next day, 105,000 general admission passes were sold in 2 hours. Those passes were individually sold for 150$.
The headliners for this year’s festival are Nickelback, 50 Cent, Jonas Brothers, The Offspring, Alexandra Stréliski, Karkwa, Alan Walker, Zac Brown, Post Malone, J Balvin, and Motley Crue. “My family bought tickets in presale without knowing the lineup and I’m disappointed about some of them, I thought it was going to be as nice as last year but it’s not” declared Mélianne. Moreover, the fact that last year’s lineup was surprisingly good, it created anticipation for this year and brought discouragement to some people.
Each year, the FEQ organizes some theme nights like the country night, the electro night, the summer night, or even the Latino night. Those nights can be great for meeting people with the same music taste as you!
For many many years, the “festival d’été de québec” has been a tradition for a big part of the population. However, in the last few years, more families have had trouble buying some passes because other people would buy more passes than they need and resell them at a higher price. This problem caused the FEQ to reduce the amount of tickets you can buy to four tickets per person.
Also, inflation has increased the price of the passes which caused some people couldn’t afford this year’s passes. Even though the price rising, the tickets were still selling pretty fast.
Some people this year weren’t able to get some tickets so they are going to buy some from the people that resale them. Those people resale them for at least double their original price which is 150$.
Happy Festival!
