Ferrari’s recent announcement about signing Lewis Hamilton for a multi-year contract, starting in 2025, signals the end of Carlos Sainz’s days with the F1 racing team.
At the beginning of March, Ferrari announced Carlos Sainz’s departure from the famous F1 racing team. He will be replaced by Mercedes racer Lewis Hamilton. By doing this switch, the company value will be increased by seven billion USD and it will contribute to a ten percent increase in the shared price.
Forced to give up his seat, Carlos is considering the different options that are available to him for 2025. “Some things do not entirely depend on me,” said Carlos, insinuating that he does not have all the cards in hand to decide his future. The Spanish driver has a few options presented to him. He is in fact one of TotoWolff’s first choices to replace Hamilton. Helmut Marko, Red Bull’s motorsport advisor, said that Sainz had received, in his opinion, a “very lucrative offer from Audi.”
Carlos still hasn’t decided which team he is going to turn to. “The only assurance I have is from myself, that I want to make the right decision,” Sainz replied to journalists. “That’s why it takes a little longer and that’s why I want to see all the options available before making a fundamental decision.” “Some things don’t entirely depend on me and there will be some waiting,” added the Spaniard. “But, in the meantime, it’s not like we’ve completely stopped negotiations. We’re still in conversation with people and we’re moving forward where we can move forward. But all of these things include waiting which, as I have already said, will be necessary for people to make up their minds in many areas.”
Sainz started his career in karting, in 2006. He joined AlphaTauri’s racing team (formerly named Toto Rosso) in 2015 and then joined McLaren. Finally, he started racing for Ferrari in 2021 with a two-year contract. With which he did 21 podiums, 1051.5 points and entered 189 Grands Prix wearing the number 55.
Although his future in F1 racing is still uncertain, Sainz still has hope for a great career in this industry.
