In the past few years, Adidas had a big comeback with new footwear such as the bestseller: Adidas Superstar, which sold more than 15 million pairs in 2023.
Adidas’ history started after World War I with Adi Dassler, in Germany, in his mother’s house. His elder brother, Rudolf, joined him and named their small business “Dassler Brothers shoe factory”. Adi Dassler originally had the idea to create a brand for athletes so they can be provided with the best equipment possible. It was later officially founded in 1949. In 1972, Adidas gained more and more popularity with the trust of multiple athletes around the world.
Entering a new century (the 2000s), Adidas reinvented its game and focused more on sports-inspired streetwear. In one of their most iconic and remarkable marketing, big athletes show that they face their fears and defeats and form a slogan; “Impossible is Nothing”.
In 2011, the Adidas team decided to create apparel for everyday wear and not just for sports or workouts. They bring together sports, street, and style in one campaign to tell the world what it means to go heart over head. “Whatever your goals and challenges may be, you have to go all in for ultimate success.” Years upon years, Adidas gained ultimate success.
Adidas sneakers have gotten more into fashion this year, in 2024. For example, Adidas Superstars are popular in the Skateboarding community. They are fashionable, good for everyday wear, as well as comfortable.
Adidas, a well known brand, started small but became big making an inspiration to many different athletes and other people around the world. This proves that your dreams can become a reality. As Adi Dassler once said, “A company grows on its values”.
