Max Verstappen won the Grand Prix of Japan and took back his place on the top of the podium.
Three weeks ago, Max Verstappen’s rear brakes caught on fire in Australia. Despite that, he wasn’t stressed or worried even if it was the famous ”Grand Prix de Formule 1” of Japan. He made his point worth it since he drifted the race track in 1 minute 28,197 seconds and won the race.
”The critical point was the start to stay in the lead and after that, the car just got better and better. It couldn’t have been better,” said Max Verstappen. This theory makes sense because the pilot led the race from the beginning to the end. Even with his few laps behind due to the delay at the pit, Max Verstappen crossed the end line 12,5 seconds before his teammate Sergio Pérez.
Carlos Sainz, another competitor, won the third place after Sergio Pérez. Sainz affirmed that Verstappen and Pérez were the ones that dominated the race, so it could have already been done with only four Grand Prix. “I think they’ll definitely have an advantage in the first third of the season until we make one or two evolutions. But by then, it might be a bit too late with the advantage they could have in the rankings,” he said. Verstappen answered this comment but didn’t completely share the same opinion. ”It’s a very long season. I don’t really think about the rest of the season,” he declared.
Mr. Verstappen was very glad and felt proud of winning with his teammate the first and second positions.
Verstappen is a third-time world champion. In addition, he is first in the rank of pilots and he won 22 races on 26 since the beginning of the 2023 season. Furthermore, he accomplished his 57th victory including the one in Japan. These victories gave him a total of 77 points, so there is a gap of 13 points with Sergio Pérez.
