A meteo presenter on BBC Channel got expelled from a plane because she demanded that every passenger not eat peanuts.
Georgia Palmer, 49 years old, had to fly between London and Turkey on May 21st with her family. But the members of the company SunExpress escorted them out of the plane after she demanded to everyone on the flight not to eat peanuts because of her children’s allergy.
Rosie, the 12-year-old daughter, suffers from a serious peanut allergy, and even the smell of it could provoke an anaphylactic reaction, a severe form of allergy.
“We have passed the twelve past years to make aware the people of the allergies which are around us and the utilization of Epi-Pens. It is a volatile allergen and even if Rosie wouldn’t enter into direct contact with a peanut, if someone ate a pack of it, she could die”, said Georgia Palmer.
The crew would refuse to announce to everyone with the intercom under the pretext that the company policy concerning allergies changed. Miss Palmer and her fiancé Nick Sollom decided to tell gently to the passengers around them and to pass the message. After, this would have made the captain responsible for the flight and ordered that the family be kicked out.
“When he discovered I talked to the other passengers, he yelled at me from the cockpit. He was so angry[…], we were told to get out of the plane”, explained the family’s mother.
The family finally took another flight with EasyJet the next day.
