You’ve probably all seen Inside Out when you were younger and waited for the sequel. There’s a theory that Pixar waited for the younger kids who watched the movie to grow up to make the second part. The now teenagers feel more connected with the movie.
Inside Out is a movie that was released on June 19th 2015, it’s about an 11-year-old girl who just moved to Minnesota. The whole movie is about her five main emotions: Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Anger and Fear. The new movie incorporates 4 new emotions with the names of Anxiety, Ennui, Embarrassment and Envy. Emotions that people start to deal with as a teenager.
Anxiety
“Hello! Oh my gosh, I’m Anxiety. Where can I put my stuff?” was the first thnig she said when she arrived in Riley’s head with 6 suitcases representing the emotional baggage that comes with anxiety as a teenager. Teenage years are when anxiety becomes a big factor in their lives, Riley will have to enter the world as a young adult with the weight of anxiety on her shoulders as she tries to make new friends.
Ennui
Ennui is the idea of boredom, disinterest and lack of excitement, teenagers start to feel this way as they have to take more responsibilities with things in their lives. The producers haven’t yet announced how this emotion will affect Riley’s life since Ennui is an emotion that comes and goes during that period of life.
Embarrassment
The character of embarrassment is seen with a terrified look on her face since she is scared of judgment. As teenagers start to try new things, embarrassment comes in big. Riley will live some embarrassing moments at school, with her friends and with her family as well.
Envy
People start to feel jealous or resentful of others when they grow up for example with sports, grades in school and even with physical appearance. Mostly with physical appearance teens will try to change themselves to try and fit the ”beauty standards”.
Inside Out 2 will be out on June 14th, when the last school bell will ring, we all know that teenagers will go get their popcorn ready to go back to their childhood.
