The young adult Lucas Arsenault was on vacation with his loved one at Ile-du-Prince-Edouard and while he was doing free diving, he got attacked by a shark. The man now needs to get amputated of his right leg.
In a message published on his Facebook account, Lucas tells the story of the incident he got into, on the afternoon of May 23, where he got amputated from his right leg. ” Life can be fragile despite this terrible situation, I am fortunate to be still alive. The incident involving the shark while I was only doing a free dive in low water with my family and friends, was a traumatizing experience. I don’t have the words to explain how I am lucky to be there” said Lucas Arsenault
Only at 27 years old, representing the equipment company Cabrinha and being a professional athlete in kite surfing, Lucas keeps the moral. He assumes this incident will bring him many challenges, as he also got injured on his left leg. “It is an incident on the path of life, I will adapt, I love you all, give me the time and please respect my privacy, family, and most close friends. I will give you news when I can,” said Arsenault.
Lucas Arsenault also took the time to thank all the people who sent wishes for a fast recovery, he is shocked by all the messages he got and all the support. He thanked everyone and said that their energy brought him good. He was brought to the hospital of Quebec after receiving care at a local hospital.
Lucas Arsenault is a senior Canadian champion at Squamish in British Columbia. He learned to do his sport at the age of 13 at his family cottage, in Mont-Carmel. He worked 6 months per year at The Turks and Caicos island, teaching many people to kite-surf.
