Maxym Dorval won the bronze medal of Forces AVENIR in the category “Committed Personality” last Thursday at the Gala Méritas.
Maxym is a 17-year-old girl about to graduate from secondary school after 5 years at La Camaradière. Throughout those years, she found that the school was missing something and needed some changes, which is why she ran to become president. Her main goal was to provide students with the help they needed when they needed it and to listen to the students’ propositions to make the school a more comfortable place to learn and thrive. She even made an Instagram account: mdorval.cscapitale, for students to have easier access to her if they wanted to propose ideas or get information about upcoming activities.
The school recognizes her for her dedication to the school and her hard work “It is the name of Maxym Dorval that instinctively comes to mind of school staff when they talk about committed students,” says Natalie Rémillard, the secondary 3 and 4 principal. At the gala, she was rewarded with a medal and a 100$ cheque from Desjardins. Maxym took care of organizing and decorating for activities she planned throughout the year to make school life less boring, she also planned activities for secondary 5 to create memories for the graduates and she made sure that the pictures for their album were perfect.
Maxym is not only the school president she is also a good listener and adviser to people, which is why she will be going to college in social science and then to university in psychology. She is going to be a psychologist because she wants to help as many people as she can. That is why so many appreciate and trust her.
This year, her presence and commitment made a big difference, and our school thanks her for the care, the time she spent, and the efforts she made to improve school life and provide students with a better journey.

she was perfect for the role of president. Sadly, because of the strike she couldn’t do as much as she wanted to
