Stained Glass Lamps
March 30, 2016
The secondary 4 students had to build a stained glass lamp in the “Science Technologie de l’Environnement” class. The project was organized by Sylvain Boulanger. The results of this project were astounding and the colourful lamps attracted the attention of many, as they were displayed in the main hall of the school.
It took them 7 classes to finish it. The students had to learn manufacturing techniques to build technological objects. Here’s what they needed to do:
- machining and shaping wood
- cutting and grinding of glass
- welding metallic parts
- install electric components
- learn finishing techniques
Three students had enough time to do a second lamp. They decided to make one for the secondary four Principal Miss St-Pierre. She was glad to receive their gift and displays it with great pride in her office. Thanks to Alexandra Lord, Marianne Savard and Gabrielle Gaulin for their generosity.
