The variation of temperature at la Camaradière affects the students’ learning. 

In school, the temperature constantly changes from one place to another. It’s either really hot or cold in different classes or parts of the school.

In a specific class, which is an English class on the third floor, the temperature is so hot that the students have lots of difficulty doing the work they have to do. “When I work, my head hurts because of the heat, making my work inefficient.” Said Mayka from the English class in secondary three.

In this classroom, the temperature started at 25.2 degrees and went up by 0.2 until it reached 26.7 degrees. “It’s hard to concentrate in the hot weather of the class.” Said a group of people in this English local.

The school staff can’t control the weather of the establishment, which is why it is so uneven. Nova Biomatique’s company controls everything, and we can’t do anything to change that. They are supposed to receive temperature data by WiFi, but is anyone looking at it?

On Tuesday, January 14, Mr. Gagnon’s class was visited on Wednesday, January 15. At 15h30, Mr. Gagnon noticed that the temperature started to lower.  It went from 26.7 to 22.1 in a short time.

If they were looking at the data they received, maybe they would have done something in the two weeks where it was really hot and perhaps the class would never have been this warm.

There is the same problem in other classes, but instead of being too hot, the temperature is too cold, and people are freezing. “I never know how to dress up in the morning because the temperature changes from one class to another. Sometimes I sweat and sometimes I freeze depending on the classes.” Said a student of the school.

Everyone hopes that the problem will be solved and that the temperature will stop changing all the time, mostly for their successes.
