The Story Mode is the part of the game that follows an immersive story with certain characters that you can play throughout the game. This game mode is solo but still enjoyable, as they all have captivating stories, and you could play for hours without noticing. GTA 6’s Story Mode will follow the story of Jason Duval and Lucia Camilos. Lucia and Jason are a criminal couple who are involved in crime.
The delay was caused by Rockstar’s desire to offer a high-quality game that meets their usual standards. Since GTA 6 faced a lot of pressure from the gaming community, the developers preferred to delay the game to work on it and make it perfect. There are many other reasons for the delay, like security problems, the return-to-office mandate, or some development concerns.
”I don’t want to wait anymore, I just want the game, nothing else!” said an anonymous user in the comment section of the new delay announcement.
The security breaches and the 2023 leaks are not the main reasons for the delay, even though they are still somewhat of an issue.
The return-to-office mandate was introduced in April 2025. This mandate requires developers to return to the office five times a week. This decision was made to improve productivity, yet the game is still delayed, showing that productivity isn’t at its best. The mandate was mostly implemented due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Since all the developers were locked in their homes but could still work remotely, many wanted to continue working from home. However, working from home can be more distracting than helpful.
Rockstar also delayed Grand Theft Auto to work on development because they want to release a high-quality game. They want to make GTA 6 as good as possible since we expect a game-changing experience.
