Star Académie 2025 was a success as previous years. The musical show included a great variety of types of songs that approach the public behind the screens. All of the Star Académie shows were animated by Jean-Philippe Dion every Sunday night for twelve weeks. The long-awaited finale took place on April 6th.
Star AC had a special organisation during the week, so we could follow the candidates during their stay at the Académie. Diffused on Monday until Thursday, ”La Quotidienne” showed the listeners the Académiciens during their workshops. On every Sunday night for three months, a long show was presented where we could watch the singing battle between two or three candidates that were fighting to keep their place in the adventure. The ”Mise en Danger” determined every week who was gonna sing for their place at Star Académie the Sunday after.
Every week, the candidates worked really hard to practice their group singing, their own song and also their little dances on stage. Many were surprised by how much effort they needed to put in. ”Each week, it moves really quickly, and the candidates have little time to work one-on-one with their teachers. On air, we see a minute of their performance and the feedback they receive, but in real life, it lasts about twenty minutes.” said Jean-Philippe Dion, who told this message to encourage the Académiciens during their stay.
On the side of the candidates, many were already known by a lot because of their popularity on social media. For example, Marc-Antoine Delage, a popular tiktoker, was encouraged by many people on his platform. It was one of his dreams to sing in a competition like this one, and he finally managed to do it. There were also a lot of young candidates this year. The majority was between 18 to 21 years old. Mia Tinayre was the youngest Académicienne in the adventure, who was only 16 years old!
This year finalist were Katrine Sansregret and Mia Tinayre. During the last week before the final, Katrine and Mia had spent a lot of great time together. They got to know each other and have the chance to spend more time closely. They had a lot of time to work one-on-one with Garou, the director of the show, who helped them to prepare themselves for the last spectacle.
On the big day, Mrs. Sansregret decided to approach the public with one of her compositions named ”Partir où partir”, which was composed for her grandmother. As many thought, Katrine managed to put a lot of spectators on her side, but unfortunately, her performance missed something and was not enough to win the final. Not being very old, Mia managed to win this year’s Star Académie, singing a nostalgic song of Michel Legrand ”Quand ça balance”.Despite the end of the adventure, the two girls were really proud of themselves and will continue to see each other outside of the Académie. ”Having sung with so many artists, on such a big stage, in front of the whole of Quebec, is unreal. So I put all these experiences in my backpack and move forward with them.” said Mia, who was really satisfied of her course at the Académie.
