The foundation FORCES AVENIR “Pérennise le mouvement” organized the Gala Meritas, recognizing students who achieved outstanding performance and improvement in their grades, and those who participated in the school’s activities.
The effort of the students was honoured by prizes, providing from Desjardins, making the awards possible.
A prestigious $10,000 scholarship award was given to Henri Lacoste, who committed to school’s activities, student life, academic perseverance and performance. His recognition brought a standing cheering from the crowd, emphasizing the strong support from the public.
Henri was so glad about his achievement: “I’m truly happy, it’s rare these days for young people to be recognized for their great involvement. I’m glad to see that the efforts I made to give our youth a voice have paid off.”, “If I have one disappointment, it’s that for some, this kind of recognition still feels out of reach.” he continued by saying “I want to show that getting involved always has positive outcomes. As for my future, I’m simply grateful to have the chance to keep pursuing my goal: giving you the greatest opportunity to express yourselves, in every space.”
Other prizes distributed included gift cards of 20$ at Poulet Rouge, 100$ Desjardins prizes and 150$ Desjardins prizes.
The Gala also celebrated students involved in the francization program, learners who have become well known, returning to congratulate and inspire the next generation.
The ambiance throughout the evening was filled with pride and emotion. Families applauded warmly after each announcement, and teachers could be seen smiling and exchanging congratulations.
Several students expressed their feelings about the evening. “It was a real surprise for me to win. I didn’t think my effort would be noticed like this.”, “My loved ones are happy for me. I think they’re especially glad to see that all the efforts I made, with their support, I have led me somewhere. The award was still the result of a long process, so it wasn’t really a surprise.” A parent added, “It’s so heartwarming to see the school value the work our children do. This gives them motivation for the future.”
The 2025 Gala Méritas isn’t only a moment to distribute awards but also a powerful reminder of the value of determination, resilience, and community. As the lights dimmed on the stage, the applause echoed, honouring the many accomplishments of the students and closing a night to remember.
They recognize the great performance of the students from each grade, with hundreds of apprentices who give hope for the future. Making families, teachers, and staff members proud of their great learners.
