Splashin is an app that organizes a real-life water tournament. This game requires a blend of strategy and competition. You can either play solo or in teams. There are several rounds, and in each round, every player gets to revive.
First, all the players need to download the Splashin app and then share their location. Once the game starts, the goal is to eliminate your target, but you don’t know who the person that has to eliminate you is. You can help yourself to find your target by using their location on the app.
To eliminate someone, you have to splash the person by using either water balloons, water buckets, or using bright-colored water guns easily identifued as toys. You need to upload a photo or video of when the target is being splashed to have proof of the elimination. If you don’t, your elimination won’t count.
A way to protect yourself from being eliminated is by noticeably wearing immunity items like swimming goggles or arm floaties. When wearing them, the person that is your tracker can’t splash you. You can also go in safe zones on the map that are delimited by game admins.
It is even possible to use special power-ups such as immunity shields and revive packs that are dropped on the map or bought in the shop with your accumulated points.
There are two different game modes to choose from, either playing the “Blitz” mode, which is the player with the most points (eliminations) who wins, or the “Battle Royale” mode, which is the last player standing who wins.
Another game feature is called the purge. When it is on, players get the chance to eliminate any other players in the game, including their target.
The teachers are not really happy about Splashin and even banned it from inside classes because students played this game while the teachers were doing their work.
Some people even took the game really far and went into their target’s house at night to eliminate them while they didn’t have their immunity items.
