F.E.Q. Improvements for 2016
March 31, 2016
2016 is a year marked with changes and improvements. Gathering several artists coming from the four corners of the world, the Festival d’Été de Québec will open its doors this July with new modifications.
One of the biggest changes made this years concerns the number of pass that will be sold. They will be reduced by 30,000. There will be 120,000 passes available instead of 150,000. This aims to improve the comfort of the fans. It also assures a better view of the show, and more space to circulate.
Site of the Bell Scene
According to the organization, the main purposes of the festival are that the people who will go see the shows are happy, that they see and hear well, that they have a pleasant experience and that they enjoy their evening as much as possible. This is why all the festival sites were reviewed. The changes will particularly affect Bell scenes and Loto-Québec. The changes for the Bell scene aim to improve the sight and give more space to the people who will attend the event. The master control area, which is on the front of the stage, will be reduced by 50%. It will be lightweight, lower and will occupy less space. The team of the event will double the side screens of the Bell scene to allow festival-goers to live the shows more intensely . The organizers also decided that they’ll cut the tree, who is to the right of the site. This decision will allow a better view for the public, although it has angered many activists and tree lovers.
“Zone Signature”
This year, spectators will see that two new areas were added to the site of the Bell Scene. For the first time, new bleachers, designed for 2000 people, will see the day on the Plains of Abraham. This zone will be reserved to ticket holders. “La Zone Signature” will be served by exclusive consumption and health services to cardholders. The cards for this area are on sale for $350 and $400.
Parc De La Francophonie
There will also have some changes for the Parc De La Francophonie that will be done. The area can now receive 10,000 people. This is now 3,500 more than last year. The site will be expanded towards the rue St-Amable and the VIP area will no longer be in the back of the site, but close to the stage just like it is on the plains. The transformation, which integrates these streets, as well as a LED screen, will allow more visitors to enjoy their evening and attend concerts.
