Donald Trump wanted to put a wall all around the united states … And 41% of Americans would have approved it! The idea of enclosures between USA and Canada has been dismissed by Trump himself, however the separation with their south neighbors would stand. When a moderator from Spanish-language Telemundo asked Trump to justify his unequal treatment of the U.S. neighbors, she asked why he insisted on a wall with Mexico, when the northern neighbor might represent a bigger security risk. She also said ””You have said that you will not build a wall in Canada… Isn’t that like closing the front door, and leaving the back door open?”. Is the plan of putting a wall between Mexico and The United States a good idea? Personally, I don’t think so. Just think about the negative impacts on the environment, and America’s economy.

 First,the environment. Building a wall along the US-Mexican border will fragment the Sonoran Desert ecosystem, damage the desert’s plants and animal communities, and prevent the free movement of wildlife between the United States and Mexico. Also, Trump is trying to isolate the USA from Mexico. But the borders along theses countries are 2,000 miles. Do you imagine how much money it represents? Trump estimates that the wall would be built for $10 billions to $12 billions. And you know what ? Trump wants the Mexicans to pay for it ! It’s like , you want something, but you don’t want to pay it ? Then just don’t do it ? Unless if the Mexicans really want it too ! And only the Mexicans? I’m pretty sure the Americans are richer than Mexico. The USA are the first ones in the GDP (Gross domestic product) rating, And mexicois ranked 14. Ironic ? Sure.

Second, let’s talk a little bit about George W. Bush . In 2006, the president Bush has signed an act who authorize the construction of a wall in a third of the Mexicans fence. The Secure Fence Act was supposed to make the limits of the USA/Mexico safer . But the fence in not impassable, the illegal immigrant will only slow him , but won’t stop him. Just this fence cost between 6 and 8 billions dollars , this is expensive for a third of a fence of 1200 kilometers that is not even safe at 100%. They put this fence to stop the illegal immigrants and the illegal drug traffic , but it didn’t work like it used to because they have dig more than 200 underground tunnel, and some catapult their drug in the other side of the fence. The wall is 5 meter of iron cylinders , with wire fences and concrete full of cameras. This fence stopped 25% of illegal immigrants, that’s not much for a wall who supposed to stop all the Mexicans illegal stuff from crossing the the end of mexico. Mexico has destroy a part of the wall that the United States of America has build on his land.

Third, let’s compare the Trump Wall to the Berlin Wall. The Berlin Wall was built to stop the massive escape of people from East to West Berlin, basically to stop people from getting out. Trump planned wall along the US-mexico border is to stop the flow of illegal Mexicans and other people to enter in the US illegally. So Its a wall to keep illegal migrants out. What’s the link ? They both separate friends and families.” History has taught us building a wall , too keep people out , or to lock them in, can have far reaching, and sometimes devastating consequences, just like that wall bisecting Berlin, which the government of East Germany began building on this day, August 15, 1961” said Joy Reid. A wall is something that separate things, isolating people, countries and cultures. So, why we do the same mistake history taught us and hope it will turn differently if the reason this wall is build is similar ? Isolating people from people.
