Clowns Out of Circus
November 1, 2016
Clowns are usually meant to do crazy and entertaining things, but not to run after you with a chainsaw just for their own entertainment. Since late august, this happened worldwide, including a few cases located in the province of Québec.
Most of the time, those pranks aren’t meant to hurt anyone however cases of kidnapping and murder were reported to the cops. These bad guys, which are teens most of the time, will run after their victims with whatever dangerous objects they find like: chainsaws, guns, knifes, sticks, etc.
This killer clown epidemic strikes everywhere around the world. It happened in 40 states of our neighbour country, but there has also been attacks on the west side of the Atlantic ocean.
In the United States some schools have been closed for the safety of students because of clowns sightings near those establishments.
Two incidents were reported here, in Saint-Rémi and in Gatineau. For the first one, which occurred in Gatineau, their were two teens, a boy and a girl. They were wearing masks and ran after children in Limbour park. They were carrying a 2 meter steel chain.
In Saint-Rémi, two teenagers wearing a clown costumes ran after kids. They were arrested and will be prosecuted.
Not only their victims are affected. The people that have coulrophobia, the phobia of clowns, now have many more reasons to be afraid than before.
As those pranks are scaring people, it’s starting to slowly have an impact on some real-life clowns. It still hasn’t directly affected them, but after we interviewed some, we realized it might become a real problem.
“The 8 year old children I work with don’t really mind because they don’t go on Internet, but teenagers and adults are starting to ask some question about what I think about this” said Pippo from the Québec Clown Association.
This might be just the beginning of a real problem that might affect a lot more people than we could think, as it’s growing bigger and bigger.
