Great Boost for FEQ’s Future

Mathieu Boies and Anthony Gagnon

FEQ has been working on improving its content for it’s 50th birthday. The producers decided to introduce new projects and listen to people’s concerns and suggestions. This is definitely going to improve the celebrations and have a positive impact on the festival’s future.

First of all,  they’d like to introduce street arts to entertain visitors. Also, they’d like to improve the entertainment on the day and night sites with street performers, interactive animations, displays, etc. It seems like they’re going to add more and more of these attractions for the next years.

They’re also going to add better VIP and comfort spaces, as it was seen this summer with the VIP platform on the plains of Abraham. “It’s a necessity. People who have disabilities or just don’t like to be in big crowds need it. It’s a great idea.”, said mister Jean-Sébastien Gagnon, a life long fan of the festival and teacher at our school.

After half a century, the event still doesn’t have it’s own artistic monument. They want to build at least one structure, which will allow people to take pictures and bring back  visual souvenirs. They tried the idea in 2015, but it wasn’t a succes, which is why it wasn’t brought back this summer.

The guests care more in matter of what they eat, which is why the products that the FEQ sells are going to change to what people want. Healthier and trendy food instead traditional junk food. A little bit like the beer they sold. It was restricted to one brand, but didn’t quite satisfy the public who’d prefer having beer from microbreweries.

The 50th edition should be the best one so far, as the producers are working really hard to be able to bring these changes as well as good artists to the FEQ 2017.
