A New Adventure
Dear readers,
It is the start of a new adventure for both my grade 9 students and me. Being an EESL (Enriched English as a Second Language) teacher, finding new ways for my pupils to express themselves is trivial. Most of them have been in an enriched program for three years now. They certainly have come a long way for people living in a French speaking province. However, writing in a newspaper necessitates a whole new set of skills. They will need to learn to observe and ask questions, find subjects that are newsworthy and respect an elaborate code of ethics. I hope that this enthralling new challenge will trigger their love of writing. I wish them best of luck and I am confident that this experience will change their vision of the world. As Robert Fulghum so wisely said: Be aware of wonder.
