On october 20, Sushi girl was caught trying her scam at Brynd restaurant in Sillery.

The mature con artist earned her nickname after raiding most sushi establishments of the region. For many weeks, Sushi girl scammed many different restaurants. She cleverly convinced  waiters that she had choked on a piece of plastic in her take out food. She entered  restaurants well dressed using nice language and driving a Mercedes, so nobody was doubting her. She then would ask for a refund of approximately 100$ for the food she had supposedly bought. Most of the workers didn’t doubt her and gave her what she asked for. However , some believed her story lacked credibility, which explained why her scam ended up on Facebook.

Unfortunately for her,The thief got caught.Everything happened at a grill in Sillery. She entered in the restaurant and asked for a refund following her well established strategy. Luckily, The Brynd’s waiter  already knew her from an article on Facebook. the latter discretely asked his colleague to go lock the door and call the police.The waiter continued talking with the sushi women as he waited for the police. After a few minutes,they arrived and approached the women. She then was brought in for interrogation. It is yet to determine if accusations will be held against her.

During all her fraud operations ,she used a fake identity under the name of Chantal Côté.Her real name is Nancy Demers .Her criminal record shows more than forty charges of fraud, stealing and possession of fake identity. The last time we saw her was in Saint-Hyacinthe,where other restaurants were victims of a similar story as the ones in Québec.
