There are many funny and surprising facts about Christmas that you probably do not know. Here is a list of ten of these interesting facts;
1. Rudolph, the popular Christmas reindeer, was created by the Montgomery Ward department store. They used this red-nosed animal to get children to buy their coloring books.
2. In Poland, at Christmas, spiders are a symbol of prosperity and goodness. They often use this arachnid and some spider webs to decorate their Christmas trees. There’s also a legend that explains that a spider wove a blanket to Jesus when he was a baby.
3. Do you know that you can donate your Christmas tree to some zoos and they will use it as food for the animals?
4. The ancestor of the Christmas decorations we use on our fir tree is the apple.
5. The popular song Jingle Bell written by James Pierpont was not composed for Christmas but for Thanksgiving.
6. The Statue of Liberty is the biggest Christmas gift in the world given by the French to the United-States.
7. Do you know that the Black Friday is not the biggest shopping day? It is the Friday and Saturday before Christmas.
8. The best selling Christmas song is White Christmas written by Bing Crosby. This popular track has been sold more than 50 million times in the world.

10. Last year, the most expensive Christmas tree was in the United Arab Emirates. This decoration cost 11 026 900$.
