Back From Space

On November 9th, a french astronaut came back from space after spending six months up there. It was his second mission out of Earth’s bond.

Thomas Pesquet is a 43 years old astronaut born in Rouen, France. On November 17th, 2016, he was the 10th french astronaut to go into space. A year ago, he was chosen by SpaceX to be part of the Crew Dragon capsule. They called it Alpha because he was the first French to be part of something like this.

In April this year, it was his second time going to the ISS (International Space Station) and he came back six months later. He was the first French commanding officer of this station.

After a mission like that, he needs a lot of re-stabilization because of the gravity changes between Earth and space. ‘’I still feel heavier,‘’ he said ‘’Right now, I wouldn’t even be able to run 100 meters.’’

The landing of the SpaceX capsule, Dragon, happened offshore in Florida. Two Americans and a Japanese that were in space with Thomas Pesquet for the mission came out of the ship. They all passed medical tests to see if they are fine to take their flight home.

The four of them are in great condition and can go home safely to see their family. It was again a successful mission from SpaceX.

‘’Next time, the Moon?’’ said the astronaut on his Twitter ‘’I’m proud to have represented France another time in space.’’ With all the pictures that he posted on his social media, especially on Twitter, he gave people the desire to go into space to experiment with 0G gravity.

As soon as he recovers, Thomas Pesquet will be ready soon or later for his next mission.
