On February 17, a 15-year-old girl was hurt by an RTC bus while she was going to school because of slippery roads in Québec. She was stuck below the bus and the snowbank.

The accident occurred on Valmont street, in the sector of Sainte-Foy, towards 7h40 am, when the girl was going to school. The girl was walking on the sidewalk and the bus slid off its path because of the icy road.

Fortunately, the teenage girl has no serious injury. She only got minor leg injuries out of the accident.

The school will need to have new rules because on that day it was very dangerous to go to school because of the slippery road. According to a majority of people interrogated on the matter, it is obvious that most feel they put their life at risk this morning to come to school.

“I think it was very dangerous because the road was icy and I almost fell a lot of times on the ground, we should always be very careful,” said Arianne, a high school student at La Camaradière, when asked about her opinion on the matter.

Another student said, “One of my friends saw an old woman fall off the bus because of the ice.”
