The reggaeton singer Daddy Yankee decides to retire from his singing career in an emotional video

‘’This career has been a marathon that comes to an end’’ This 45-year-old Puerto Rican star retires from his music career after 32 years. During his career some of his biggest hits were ‘’Gasolina’’, ‘’Despacito’’, ‘’Con calma’’, ”Lo que paso, paso’’ and many others.

‘’I confess that people are the greatest thing I can have in my career. I have always worked hard not to fail them, not to get into trouble, with a lot of discipline so that I can inspire all the chamaquitos (kids) to be leaders. That they dream of growing up, that they don’t think about limitations and work for their families and for their own.’’

He admits that when they were younger he and other young people in his neighborhood wanted to become ‘’narcos’’ (drug dealers). Now when he goes back to these places the majority of young kids want to become singers. “That’s worth a lot to me.’’

He celebrates 32 years of his career with the release of his latest album ”Legendaddy” on March 24, 2022. This last album will be based on many styles that defined him: fight, party, war, romance, and more.

He will go on the last tour and will sing on September 10, 2022, at the Centre Bell- Montreal, CA, and on March 25, 2022, at Toyota Arena- Ontario,  CA.

“I retire with the greatest of gratitude to my public, my colleagues, all the producers, radio, press, television, digital platforms, and you. Especially to you, who has been with me since the root, since the beginning of reggaeton.”

A lot of artists like Jbalvin, Natti Natasha, jquiles left supportive comments on his Instagram post where he thanks all of his followers for everything they have done for him.
