Hogwarts Legacy is a brand new open-world role-playing game set in the Harry Potter universe, but in the late 1800s, way before Harry, Hermione, and Ron. Players will have the opportunity to enter the magical school of Hogwart as a student. It’s taking place in the 1800s, which means there will be a whole new magical story to discover, especially since Albus Dumbledore wasn’t born until 1881.

You’ll play as a fully customizable character who is a fifth-year student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You’re also the keeper of an “ancient secret that threatens to split the wizarding world apart,”  and you have the ability to manipulate mysterious ancient magic, and you’ll need to work with others to figure out why this lost power has suddenly resurfaced while fighting those who are attempting to control it.

In this game, you can choose your Hogwarts house at the start of the game, and you’ll be able to go to classes like Charms, Defense Against the Dark, Herbology, and Potions. Between the classes, you have the opportunity to explore Hogwarts, which is full of secrets, enchantments, and other mysteries and puzzles.

The Room of Requirement will also become a frequent stop, serving as a base where you can catch up on your studies while you’re not in class. In fully configurable vivariums, you will be able to grow plants, manufacture potions, and even collect magical monsters.

Hogwarts Legacy was announced at the PS5 showcase in September 2020, but the game has been delayed until 2022 due to controversies surrounding the involvement of the book series’ original creator JK Rowling. It will now be released at the end of 2022.

This game will be available on many platforms, like the PlayStation5, PlayStation4, PlayStation4 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
