Since October 7th, 2023, Gaza has been suffering from hunger because of the war that is happening between Israel and Palestine.
For many months, people who live in Gaza have been suffering from hunger because Israel is blocking and destroying access to farmland and sea. Some reports say that since 27 October (when the Israel military group started the offensive) around 22% of agricultural land including greenhouses and farmland in the north of Gaza has been razed by Israel. Which made a quarter of the population die from famine including pregnant women and children who lack in their physical development. So what’s the solution to all of this? Some humanitarian organizations are air-dropping some food supplies, but this method is no longer in use because it killed 5 people, trucks are the best solution, but Israel is intercepting them and starting to open fire as they cross the border.
Mexican humanitarian organizations sent 200 tonnes of food supplies through a newly created sea route through Chypra. The purpose of this shipment is to aid the famine-stricken north of Gaza. The organizations also plan to discuss the construction of a new pier to facilitate the delivery of aid in Gaza.
The war between Israel and Palestine has existed since 1948, but intensified a lot in October 2023 when Hamas(an Islamist militant movement) from Gaza which is a Palestinian territory located in Israel launched more than 5000 missiles at Israel because like they said it’s “a necessary step and a normal response to confront all Israeli conspiracies against the Palestinian people”.
