The 33rd edition of the Omnium is back at La Camaradière once again this year. This event will occur on May 24 starting at 16h and May 25 starting at 8h.
The Omnium is a volleyball tournament for all the retired éperviers and the current ones. This gives the current éperviers the chance to perform against different level people and the retired ones to come back and experience playing at La Camaradière once more. The prices for this year are 35$ per player, 25$ for current students, and free for éperviers athletes from 2023-2024. The Omnium offers the athletes a shirt and free food, because of the many businesses who have decided to sponsor them over the years. These are Excavation Desgagné, Expair, Alex Leclerc Inc, Les restaurants Côtes-à-Côtes, Fradette Sport and Stanley.
For the teams, there are 4 categories according to their level, AA is for teams composed of active or inactive college players, BB is for teams composed of active players from secondary 4-5 in the éperviers, A is for players who know the basics of volleyball, for example, secondary 3 éperviers players and B is for people who are not players who only play for fun. This edition of the Omnium is composed of 25 teams, since there were not enough inscriptions for the B category, the organization took it off. AA is composed of 5 teams, BB of 12 teams, and A of 8 teams.
This year the inscriptions for the Omnium were done in only 5 days, it was already full. A caterer named Régis Gagnon will take care of the food. On the menu, there are pulled pork burgers, coleslaw, and fries. There is also a new way to see the ranking, which will now be available on electronic devices with a QR code. This year’s Omnium will be very interesting, many teams come back every year only to experience this event again since it is an incredible opportunity to play volleyball for fun.
