Elephants are an endangered animal because of poaching.

Elephants are a very intelligent species. Scientists say that their capacity of resolving problems is similar to cetacean and dolphin. It’s also seen that elephants have feelings and they show them when one of the group is killed they cry and they also cry when they see the bones of one of their friends. 

Elephants are endangered animals for many reasons. First because of deforestation, they get rid of so many trees that their natural habitat gets destroyed and they often die of this. Another thing is the poaching, they get killed for a lot of reasons, one is their skin. Their skin is used for clothes like boots, shoes, custom, car interiors, jackets and many other things. They get killed for their meal too and also a lot for their horn. The horn of the elephant, also call Ivory, is an ancient art or manufacture which is also used for making items like false teeth, piano keys, fans and dominos. Ivory is a very expensive thing, that’s why so many people kill elephants to get their horns. In one year between 20 000 and 30 000 elephants get killed.

Because of the poaching of their horns, all the elephants with big horns got killed and they started to evolve. Only the male elephant gets killed because they are the only ones with horns. However, this majestic beast started to evolve, so some male elephants don’t have horns. The baby grew up and didn’t grow horns so they got less killed. It’s a big change in their life because their horns were their defense against their predator.  

For helping the elephant they create some safe place for them where they can’t poach and everything but however they still get killed in other places. 

Elephants are evolving but for good or bad ? It’s good because they get less hunting but the negative point is that they don’t have principal defense.
