The FEQ, known as the Festival d’Été de Québec, is considered one of the biggest music festivals in Canada. People from all over the continent come to see this festival, which includes shows tuned to all styles of music.
The festival opened its doors in 1968. Since then, the FEQ has welcomed many festival goers and sold up to 125,000 passes year after year! The concerts will start on July 3rd and finish on July 13th, with 11 shows in total. The FEQ includes many different scenes each night, so everybody can walk freely on the site and go from one show to another.
This year, a lot of significant artists are expected. The fans can’t wait until the release of the new lineup, which will be released on Tuesday, February 26th. There’s music for everyone and every style. The festival presents pop, rock, jazz, and classical music, but pop music is always more popular every year than other styles. “There’s not a lot of artists who come to Quebec for their shows, so I take advantage during the FEQ.” said a festival fan.
Every time, the Festival d’Été de Québec works out to invite the artists who have played the biggest role in music throughout the year. Several artists like Coldplay, Dua Lipa, Noah Kahan, Benson Boone, and Kendrick Lamar were popular singers this year, and they are suspected of coming as the headliners of one of the evenings. There’s also a chance that Ed Sheeran, Avril Lavigne, or Eminem might come to the FEQ this year. On the side of Quebec, singers Salebarbes and Charlotte Cardin could ignite the audience with their songs and are suspected of coming to the FEQ.
In 2019, the arrival of the famous group Imagine Dragon was one of the most liked shows of the FEQ. The festival doors had to close because the maximum capacity of the audience was reached. The capacity can exceed 90,000 spectators, so the show was a big success. Pitbull also reached maximum capacity, playing his biggest music hits of the 2000s. Paul McCartney, Post Malone, and Elthon Jones are different styles of music that have also been extremely popular in the past years. “I was thrilled that I’ve seen Les CowBoys Fringants,” said a big fan of the group.
