The Quebecc1er Kim Clavel and her opponent will fight on April 4th at the Montreal Casino for a boxing gala. The fight promises to be hostile!
At the traditional boxer weigh-in, Kim Clavel attacked her adversary with a cutting remark. “It was an early jab for tomorrow [Thursday]”, she said. The problem is that the weight limit for this battle is 110 pounds and Fara El Bouraisi, Kim Clavel’s opponent, weighs 111,4 pounds. “We weighed in like real pros!”, said the Quebec boxer with a weight of 109,8 pounds.
Shortly after, Kim Clavel’s opponent wanted to have a handshake with her, but Mrs. Clavel answered with a hostile fist bump. Afterwards, the coach of Mrs. El Bousairi, David Quinonero, affirmed that it was a communication misunderstanding and they thought that the battle had a weight limit of 112 pounds. Due to this situation, the promoter of this event, Yvon Michel, did not attend the weigh-in, but he acted and decided to cut off 20% of Fara El Boursairi’s purse, in other words, her salary for this fight.
Clavel’s coach, Danielle Bouchard, expressed that they have focused and prepared themselves more on their training and on their boxing preparation than on the weight of their adversary. “We knew she was a heavier girl. That she arrives here heavier is no surprise to us”, said the coach.
Fara El Bouraisi said that this battle will be like a war and that she had been facing better boxers than Kim Clavel. The Quebec boxer replied to Mrs. El Bouraisi’s comment and said: “I’m not going to stoop to her level, I’m going to stick to my game plan”. The strategy of Kim Clavel and her coach is clearly to not get in their adversary’s game.
However, despite all the strength that Kim Clavel shows, the coach of Mrs. El Bouraisi warned the Quebeccer that her boxer is really strong and also a warrior and that she should be worried about her opponent. Regardless of this comment, Kim Clavel wasn’t more worried and in general, she likes to disturb, so she continued (her way).
With all these arguments, the fight promises to be very interesting and fierce.
