Each year, the population of Quebec City and even those from further afield have been impatiently waiting for the list of artists who’ll be playing at the Festival d’été de Québec (FEQ). This year, a large number of teenagers and young adults were excited to learn about Kesha’s presence at this traditional festival.
She has been a very popular singer since 2009, when she released her first single “tiktok”. This song was immediately a hit and got over 50 million views in one year. 15 years later, the same song has gotten 750 million views, which means people never stopped listening to it.
Like almost every artist, Kesha has a message to pass to her fans through her music. In her case, we can often see that Kesha is mostly writing about enjoying life and living in the present moment. This mentality was much more present a few years ago, and teenagers would verbalize it by saying “YOLO”, which means you only live once.
There are a few different types of tickets available for the FEQ. The price varies between 125$ to access the scene for a night only, to 1070$ to be close to the scene and have access to the exclusive bar and restroom. Besides, the regular pass gives you access to 4 scenes, and there are also 2 scenes totally free, which don’t require the pass. This pass costs a total of 180$ and gives you total access to these scenes for 11 days.
This festival takes place in July in Old Quebec. The biggest scene, called “Scène Bell,” is located on the Plains of Abraham, and the other scenes are scattered around it.
As written earlier, the FEQ is a very important festival for the population around it, and they are all very exited of the programming this year. The Lumineers, Michael Bublé, Kesha, and even Muse are coming this summer. These are all pretty popular artists that the Québécois couldn’t imagine seeing in a show without taking an expensive trip. There is also going to be a night to let all of them connect with their community by listening to Souldia, Koriass, and Fouki.
