On February 27th, BLACKPINK released Deadline, a record consisting of five tracks: “JUMP”, “GO”, “Me and my”, “Champion”, and “F***boy”. The extended play — a record too long to be a single, yet too short to be an album — debuted at number one on the Circle Album Chart.
“BLACKPINK will begin filming their new music video this week,” announced YG on October 20th, 2025.
Upon its release, Deadline’s music videos were for both “JUMP” and “GO”. The former, the record’s main single, was released before the album, whereas the latter came out at the same time as the EP.
Blackpink disbanded in 2022 and renewed their contract in 2023. The group had not released any new music since 2022 because the members—Rosé, Jennie, Lisa, and Jisoo— each pursued solo careers.
The last time Blackpink released music was in 2022 with their album Born Pink. This was, therefore, a very anticipated comeback for the record-breaking girl group.
Rosé released “Rosie”, her debut solo album, on December 6th, 2024, under the label Atlantic Records and The Black Label.
The album contains the hit single “APT.”, which features Bruno Mars. The song hit the billion-stream mark on Spotify 100 days after its October 18th release. This makes it the second fastest song to reach that mark, after Bruno Mars’ and Lady Gaga’s “Die With a Smile”.
Jennie’s first album, “Ruby”, was her first after she left YG Entertainment as a solo artist. It has fifteen songs, five of which are singles: “Mantra”, “Love Hangover”, “ExtraL”, “Like Jennie”, and “Handlebars”.
Jennie also played in the American television series “The Idol” and was acclaimed for her acting.
Lisa’s first solo album, “Lalisa”, was released in September 2021. Its lead single “Lalisa” is the most-viewed music video by a solo artist on YouTube in the first 24 hours. Another record broken by this album is “Money”, the first K-pop solo artist single to reach one billion streams on Spotify.
Jisoo’s album “Me” became the best-selling album in South Korea by a female soloist.
In her solo work, Jisoo appeared in a few films, such as “Dr. Cheon and the Lost Talisman” and “Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy”.
Blackpink’s fans, also called blinks, are a very supportive fanbase. They were speculating about the EP’s cover and were very disappointed with YG Entertainment when they saw that it was just a line. The fans also noticed Blackpink’s change of aesthetic with the comeback.
Nevertheless, the Blinks have been very supportive of each member’s respective career.
